VIDA, a nonprofit literary foundation, was founded in August 2009. VIDA's website is home to an independent forum for those who wish to explore critical and cultural perceptions of writing by women. VIDA sponsors mentoring workshops and other opportunities for emerging women writers, partners with like-minded literary organizations, and conducts The Count, which analyses the gender disparities in major literary publications.
